Dying and decorating eggs for Easter morning had been a family tradition for years.And even though she was alone this year, it was going to be no different. Mrs. Smith started preparing the eggs a week ahead of time. She had them all boiled and dyed in beautiful colors. Hundreds of eggs waited in a huge basket for Easter to arrive. On Easter morning she awoke early, so that she could take them to the park and hide them. Children from all over the neighborhood were expected to arrive later, to find them. It was going to be the most marvelous Easter Egg Hunt ever.

When the children arrived, they had great fun hunting for the eggs and gathering them in their own baskets. There was to be a prize for the child who found the most eggs. It was to be a huge chocolate Easter Bunny. Little Marilyn found the most eggs. She went to claim her prize. Tears rolled down her face when she saw that its ears had been eaten off. She looked around to find the culpert. There standing with a grin and chocolate spread all over his face, was Bud. She should have known! For Bud could never resist chocolate.
