POT OF GOLD

Little boy blue followed the little man dressed in green, into the woods. He was puzzled by the little Leprechauns manner. Every few feet the little man would stoop down and look at the ground, push aside some of the greenery, and then stand up and continue a few feet more.

Little boy blue could contain his curiosity no longer. "Just what are you looking for, little man dressed in green?"

The little man laughed and said he was looking for a four leaf clover.

"But," said the little boy. " I thought that Leprechauns had their own luck. Why do you need a four leaf clover?"

"Silly little boy blue," answered the leprechaun "what do you think I need it for?"

The boy answered. "Well, if I knew that, I wouldn't have to ask."

"Tis an easy explanation, the leprechaun said. "I have lost my pot of gold. I need the four leaf clover to give me the luck of the Irish to find it again."

"Can't you be just like everyone else, go to the end of the rainbow and find the pot of gold?"

"Silly little boy blue," answered the leprechaun. "Have you ever known anyone to find that pot of gold?"

"Now that you mention it," said the boy. "No, I haven't."

"Why are you following me?" asked the Leprechaun.

"I can't find my horn, and thought you might know where it is."

"No, I don't know where it is. But you really don't need it."

" I don't?"

"No, you don't."

And with that, the Leprechaun handed the little boy a handful of three leaf clover, four leaf clover was too hard to find.

"Just take this back to the meadow and call your sheep and cows." So that is what the little boy did. And the Leprechaun was right. The boy didn't need his horn. The Sheep and cows came running.

The animals had their own vision of a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Food was all they wanted, and the clover served this purpose very well.

Little boy blue also had his idea of what a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow was. The sheep gave him wool to make a sweater to keep himself warm. The cows gave him milk to fill his tummy.

Everyone has their own pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. We just need to know what the pot of gold means to us.
