THE SNOWMAN

The challenge was, "What can you do with this sentence?"
(Called an eye-sore by residents of the community, the old tumbledown house was blanketed with snow that morning and looked very much like a wintry scene on a picture postcard, and oddly, there was a six foot snowman in the front yard. )

Called an eye-sore by residents of the community, the old tumbledown house was blanketed with snow that morning and looked very much like a wintry scene on a picture postcard, and oddly, there was a six foot snowman in the front yard.

The snowman was unusual, for it was the exact replica of the homeowner, with the same pointy nose, the same stocky build, the same slightly slouched shoulders. Throughout the morning, many townspeople came to gaze and wonder at it. Later that day, when the sun came out to thaw the snowman, much to the horror of of everyone, it was discovered that the snowman wasn't a snowman at all. It was the homeowner, Mr. Davis, who had died and frozen solid in the snowstorm, and was temporarily covered in snow to give the appearance of a snowman.
