Mutsuki Tachibana - Itsuki's Twin. Itsuki and Mutsuki both agreed that the ritual was wrong and that there had to be another way. When Itsuki and Mutsuki's time finally came to perform the ritual they made a pact with each other. They promised each other that their close friends Yae and Sae would never have to go through this. The ritual ended up in failure because the brothers loved each other too much for it to work.

Chitose Tachibana - Itsuki's younger sister. Chitose is deeply attached to her brothers. She becomes saddened when Itsuki comes back without Mutsuki after performing the ritual. When Itsuki is locked up in the storehouse she becomes angry and blames Yae and Sae for her brother's imprisonment. Chitose is a vey shy child and doesn't take well to strangers. Whenever an unfamilar face came around she would run and hide in the closet. Because Chitose was so timid and suffered from poor vision, Itsuki gave her a bell key and told her that anytime she was in trouble or scared to ring it and he'd always come when he heard it .  When The Repentace came she hid in the closet to escape the darkness. She witnessed the whole massacre from inside the closet where she ended up dying.

Sae Kurosawa - Younger twin of the Kurosawa family. Sae and her sister are the last of the Twin Shrine Maidens. Trying to escape their fate Yae and Sae try to flee the village while Itsuki distracted  the villagers. While fleeing Sae fell down the mountain and was captured by the villagers. When she arrived in the village she found out that Itsuki had killed himself. Greatly saddened by this she mourned his death and decided that she would  go on with the ritual. Sae, in much dispair with the death of Itsuki and her sister never coming back for her, was hung by the villagers. Because the ritual wasn't performed properly, The Repentace occured. Being corrupted by the Malice, Sae slaughtered the entire village and waited for her sister's return. Throughout the game there are many hints dropped that Sae and Itsuki cared deeply for each other. Yae Kurosawa - Older twin of the Kurosawa family. Yae did not want to perform the ritual so she readily agreed to go along with Itsuki's plan. While escaping, Yae's sister Sae fell down the mountain. Yae loved her sister very much and did not want to continue without her so she searched for her. By the time Yae made her way back to the village The Repentace had already occurred. She stood crying at the gate with all of her memory lost when Ryozo found her. The two later were married and had a child. Yae ultimately suffers the same fate as her sister. She also died by being hung, the only difference was she killed herself. Yae and Itsuki both agree that the ritual is wrong. Yae readliy agrees when Itsuki offers help. They relate to each other because they are both very determined young people.

Ryozo Munakata - Aspiring Folklorist. When Ryozo was a young boy, him and his father travelled to All God's Village where Ryozo met and became quick friends with Itsuki and Mutsuki Tachibana. His experience in the village was the reason he wanted to become a folklorist. He kept in touch with the boys through letters. Ryozo had recieved a letter from Itsuki asking him to come to the village. Ryozo and his teacher, Seijiro Makabe travelled to the village. He began asking for his two childhood friends but the villagers had told him they had both died from an illness. He had also met Yae and Sae in the village where he had been told the letter from Itsuki that he would be aiding them in their escape. He was ordered by Mr. Makabe to leave the village early but her returned on the day of the ceremony to fufill the promise he had made to his friend. All he found was Yae at the village gate crying. Ryozo cares for Itsuki very much. Most of his diary entries mention how woried he is about Itsuki. He leaves Itsuki a message telling him that once he gets Yae and Sae out of the village he is going to come back for Itsuki next.
