The Colorado Welcome Center in Fort Collins, Colorado opened on July 5, 2000. We are in our fourth year of operation and we are excited that you have taken the time to stop and visit our new website. Stop by on your next visit and join the hundreds of thousands of visitors who have already enjoyed our wonderful facilities.

We are located 31 miles from the Wyoming border at the SW corner of Interstate 25 and Prospect Road (Exit 268). The Colorado Welcome Center is open 8 am – 5 pm from the Tuesday after Labor Day through the Thursday before Memorial Day (Winter Hours) and 8 am – 6 pm from the Friday before Memorial Day through Labor Day (Summer Hours), seven days a week. We are closed for New Year's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. After hours, visitors can find state highway maps, state vacation guides, and Fort Collins visitor guides in our outside kiosk located next to the handicapped parking.

During our hours of operation, clean rest rooms and friendly volunteers make this an excellent stop for information when entering Colorado from the north. We provide complimentary Colorado maps, routing information, weather updates, brochures and more. The Colorado Department of Transportation has a weather computer station in our lobby and you can check on road conditions via images of I-70 and I-25 during inclement weather year round.  Local calls are free at our center and our staff can provide you with a wealth of information to make your visit to Colorado a success!

In addition to our Colorado Welcome Center services, our building houses the High Plains Regional office of Colorado State Parks and the Rocky Mountain Nature Association bookstore, specializing in nature related items including postcards, animal puppets, nature games, and more. We are surrounded by over 200 acres of nature preserve, which includes nature trails, interpretive trails, picnic areas and more. It is not unusual to see mule deer, eagles, fox and other native animals on or near the trails surrounding the center.

We look forward to your visit! If you need further information or assistance, please follow one of the links below to find more information on Colorado and the surrounding area or contact us at 970-491-3583 (phone), 970-491-3389 (fax), or [email protected].
