Good deer hunting area. Enjoy bush walks- hikes through native rain forests along old gold trails at Waiuta, Blackball, Reefton and Nelson Creek.
Comfortable day trips to many attractions including Shantytown, Dolphin Watch, the Punakaiki pancake rocks, scenic Buller Gorge, Bay House Cafe`and seal colony Westport, and Karamea.Our location on State Highway 7, between Reefton (20 km) and Greymouth (60 km), makes Waimaunga an idea stop-over   en route to Nelson, Picton, Blenheim and Christchurch via the Lewis and Arthur's Passes, and Hokitika and Franz Josef Glacier, via the Haast Pass.
