| The Crab Orchard High School Class of 1970 30 Year Reunion |
| On October 28, 2000 The Class of 1970 Meet at the Execitive Inn, in Paducha KY. A very good time was held by all who attended. (For those of you who didn't show, SHAME ON YOU!!!!!) Everybody meet in the Silver Sadle before the meal. Everybody got to tell what they were doing and how many Kids and (with are age now) how many Grandkids we all have. Some brung pictures of the kids and grandkids. We even had some pictures brought from school days. ( At the next one, how about everybody bringing their pictures took at the last few reunions also.) We all got to talk to each other and find out what they had been doing since the last reunion. Then we all went in to supper. The buffet was very good. They had just about anything you would want to eat. We even had a fellow playing the piano. Jim Burford had him play Happy Birthday to Ronnie Swan. Ronnie stood up and we all sung along to wish him a very Happy Birthday. It was very nice to see all the following people from our class at the reunion: Bob & Pamela Bundren Jim & Debra Burford Mary Lou & Paul Ashby Elizebeth & Micky Emery Jack & Becky Wharry Janna & Larry Clayton Ronnie & Connie Swan Carl & Loretta Beasley Jimmy & Joyce Beasley Dianne McDerrmott Danny Killiman At the end of supper, Jim Burford got up to make the announcements.. He told Bob Bundren, Mary Lou Ashby and Elizebeth Emery how good a job they had done on this years reunion. Then made the motion that they should all do the same on the next one. Pictures follow later that shows their faces at this motion. ( They had planned to retire after this one and let someone else take the show for a while.) Everybody died laughing at them. There was so much laughing at supper with everybody taking pictures. Everybody had such a good time. We finally got run off back to the Silver Saddle, we had just about lost our seats for the night. They had saved us a big table so we could all sit together. Everybody got up and danced and laughed and had a very good time. Some of the main topics of discussion are listed below, along with who said them!!!!The band was very good, along with the DiscJjocky. He also dedicated a couple of songs to us during the night. Bob Bundren also took a tape of songs he had put together, and they played it for us too. Such a good time was held by all, that no one wanted to leave. Some of us had stayed the night before and had heard the band play till closing time. So it was a few very tired people that left at 2 am to finally go back to our rooms. We all made it up to meet at 9am the next morning for breakfast. The next morning Paul and Mary Lou Ashby and Carl and Loretta Beasley were the first down at breakfast. ( They were also the last to leave the night before). We all got a big table to sit at. Elizebeth and Mick Emery was the next down for breakfast with Jim and Debra Burford next and Bobby and Pamela bringing up the rear. Ronnie Swan and wife and Danny Killman and wife deciding to spend the moring in bed instead of joining us. They don't know how much fun they missed. I have not laughed so much in a long time. Pictures of the morning after to follow later. Jim and Mary Lou kept us in stiches for a long time. Quotes from them to follow also. After a two hour breakfast we all got ready to leave. Paul Ashby bought up a very good point. He said we are all getting to the age that at the next reunion we might not all be here. He said we all live fairly close toghether and there is no reason that we can't all get together more often than 5 years. So we all voted that we would get together every 3-4 months at a resteraunt in Marion some night for supper or all meet back at the Execitive INN again and spend the night and do the same agian. I will try and find out the next meeting date and put it here on this page with the Date, Time, and Place. Don't you think its a good idea???? We should all try to get together more often. The days are going by now so fast, that we don't make the effort to contact each other like we should. We are very fortunate that all of our class is still living. Some of the classes next to us are not so lucky, they have lost some of their class mates. We have some that we have not heard from in a while that we would love to know where they are living. If anybody has e-mail address please e-mail one of the class members below. It will only take a moment of your time, but will help us to keep in contact with each other so much better. It might be a way to find some of the rest of the class. There are a few from other classes listed there also. They also have a reunion page for info about class reunions. *****The Class tries to meet every month or so at a restrant in Marion. We have ate at Bennies, Pizza, TeQuilla, Pully's.
