ON THE ROAD
-
incredible Tour de Lac Leman -
[
02/04/04 --> 05/04/04 - to Otmar, visit number #2 ]
Another
little Trip ...finally! ...through the heart of Europe, around Switzerland -
with my german friend Otmar. Funny to realize that, when I come to Suisse, it's
always with him. -just like to France with another close friend of mine- Anyway...
02/04/04:
I come out from office on the early afternoon;
I
have to run to Vicenza's rail-station, destination: Varese,
north-Italy. During the travel I have to change train in Milan- even coming by
subway too - Hard travel but It dosn't matter, because I see Otmar again, after
18 months! (...)
He propose me 3 different options
to spend the week-end:1st option: going around Milano and its
neighbourhoods; 2nd option: going to Zurich (german Switzerland) in only
24 hours; 3rd option: going all around the Lake of Genva (french
Switzerland). Of course
I
choose the last-one! So in the mid-night we are already in his swiss apartment
placed in Leukerbad.
03/04/04:
ready for "le tour", following the Rhone-valley. Montreux
in the mornin': it's such a wonderful place, "quiet
and peaceful, tranquil and blissful"- in front of the lake, a magnificent statue
in honor of Freddie Mercury -immortal voice- who spent good time here.
Lausanne on afternoon: though we walk too much, we
prefer to admire the walkin' beauties on the street.
Geneva on evening: from here the lake looks like a
sea, so enourmous seems the river-port. On the mole we go under the highest
water-spout of
Europe (80/100 meters!). Of course under the spout the wind changes direction,
the logical consequence is all the falling water over our heads!!!!! We lucky...
We come back following the southern coast, in France: swiss and french guards
don't do any control this time, both in- and out- France.
04/04/04:
short visit of Leukerbad, in the heart of the Alps,
place
famous
for its thermal baths. Then formel 1 on TV- as usual Ferrari wins -.In the end
we even see at Milano's Meazza's Stadium the big match Inter-Juventus (3:2),
90,000 spectators!
05/04/04:
it's time to leave, thank you Otmar!
