It's quite important to have parents you can respect and talk to. Really it is. I know it sounds stupidly obvious. Why do you think people forget it? Parents shouldn't be allowed to let down children. They shouldn't be allowed to pick and choose when to love their children, when to talk to them, when to have their children around. They chose to have the children, they could have stopped it, the children didn't ask to be born, and they certainly didn't request those specific parents. Not that children would change their parents. But in return for forcing life into their children, they should be their for that life, they shouldn't make it difficult or make them feel unwanted. But being my age, if I tried to talk to some of these parents about it, I would be scolded for being insolent. But if I could drill some sense into one or two of those parents, just one or two, I would in a second. Especially when I know the children, and I know what they are and what they could be, and all I can do is try to help them deal with their parents.
It makes me feel like a whiny little brat, moaning about my problems.
