first thoughts
Last night we rented the movie 'Gummo'. It interested me. It still does. I think I might buy it one of these days. I'd like to get some oher Harmony Korine films (one I know is called 'Kids'). I'd also like to get, 'Julien-donkey boy' (about a schizophrenic teenager), 'Getting to know you', and, 'West Memphis Three' (apparently that one isn't out yet).
I think they appeal to my weird side. The side that is drawn to dead body pictures and the mafia. The part of me that wants to look at people's physical and mental diasblities from a more social point of view. I don't particularly wish to cure anything, or make life easier for anyone. I just want to see how people view 'freaks', 'retards' and mental patients and see if their stigma is true. To delve into their minds and find what makes them tick. I would actually like to do that with anybody. Know them intimately enough to know what they feel. And not just the surface detail and the obvious things. I want to know someone as they know themselves. Perhaps that's impossible. I just read a little bit about 'Kids'. I think I've seen it. I think it has some nimpho guy in it called Telly and some AID's plots flying about. I wanna get that movie by Salvador Dali, 'Un Chien Andalu'. wanna go back? |
