After working as a geologist for 37 years, I am pursuing my passion for painting full time after painting part-time since 1988. My medium of choice is acrylic because they have a broad spectrum of colors necessary to capture the beauty of nature. I have always been a very visual and intuitive person with a close connection to the earth. Because I love the outdoors, I try to capture the look, feel and mood of a place in my paintings. As I work I enjoy watching a painting evolve from a preliminary sketch to finished artwork.
I like creating, enjoy showing my paintings and solving the problems involved in painting. My intention is to paint with views different from traditional in a wide variety of subjects. As I mature as an artist, I want to learn and apply different techniques.
My hope is to connect people with the beauty of nature around them.
