My name is Colin Boylett, I have  collected British First Day Covers and PHQ Cards for a number of years, with  spare items to exchange or sell.
I live in a small Sussex village called
Etchingham, about 13 miles north of Hastings, to find out about the village take a look at my village Web Site, for information about the local area check out the VillageNet Web Site.

One notable feature of Etchingham History has a philatelic connection. Henry Corbould FSA, whose design was used as the basis of the world's first postage stamp 'The Penny Black', was travelling from the coast back to London, along what is now the A21.
Corbould was taken ill in Hurst Green and  given rest& shelter at a local hostelry, sadly he never recovered dying in his room at the public house.

So, Henry Corbould was buried in the Parish Church of
Etchingham, there is a memorial tablet on the wall of the church, which is thought to be the only known likeness of Corbould, but there may be others.

In 1990, as part of the 150th anniversary of the Postage Stamp, Etchingham produced two First Day Covers, marking the Corbould connection, to raise funds for church repairs.
One cover was issued for the set of 'Double Headed' stamps in January, see Signed Covers page, and another for the Miniature Sheet in May.
Both covers were limited editions, the cover being designed by Sarah Godwin, the designer of the 1987 Issac Newton stamps, her family home was at the time in
Etchingham.
Both covers were cancelled with a special handstamp, the design of which was based on the church weathervane, the oldest brass weathervane in England still in its original position.

I am happy to exchange covers or cards, for items I need, of a similar value.
It is worth pointing out at this stage, I am not a dealer, just a keen collector with a lot of spare covers and cards.
I prefer to exchange if possible, but if I have a cover or card you require, and you have nothing to exchange, I will sell at a mutually agreed price.

If you are offering covers or cards for exchange, you need to know my collecting fields, I collect mainly British, Channel Islands and Isle of Man First Day and Special Covers and
Post Office Cards.
But I will consider other interesting philatelic items, such as Presentation Packs, Miniature Sheets and some covers from other countries.
