Full Moon Ritual

Make sure that you have all of your ritual tools together.  It is best to prepare all of your items that you will need in advance.  The items vary depending on the type of ritual you are performing.  Full Moon Rituals are often used for cleansing tools.  New tools or used tools that were newly given to you by someone all need to be cleansed.   Scrying mirrors should be cleansed under the full moon light as well.

Cast the Circle

The High Priestess will consecrate the water by drawing a pentacle over the bowl of water while the High Priest holds it.  As she draws the pentacle she will recite "I consecrate this water with the love of the Goddess, may it embrace us as do the waters of the womb of the Goddess. So mote it be."

Everyone repeats "So mote it be."

The High Priestess then holds the bowl of water while the High Priest consecrates the salt into the water while reciting the words "I consecrate this salt with the love of the Goddess, may it nourish us as does the Mother Earth herself.  So mote it be."

Everyone repeats "So mote it be."

The High Priestess then casts the circle by sprinkling the water walking deosil (clockwise) and  say "I cast this circle with Earth and Water may the Gods and Goddess protect all within it.  So mote it be."

Everyone repeats "So mote it be."

The High Priestess then Lights the incense as she says " I consecrate this incense with the love of the Goddess, may it keep our passions of creativity and love burning warmly.  So mote it be."

Everyone repeats "So mote it be."

The High Priest casts the circle while saying " I cast this circle with the powers of Air and Fire,  may it keep all lower entities and beings of mischievous  dispositions on the outside of the sacred circle..  So mote it be."

Everyone repeats "So mote it be."

Raising Energy

This is sometimes done by dancing in larger areas but for rituals inside the home we recommend holding hands and passing energy through one another.  A complete circle of energy will be accomplished completing the sphere.

Calling Quarters

North is always first and makes the call while standing facing north and saying "I call to the powers of the North, the powers of Earth.  Bless us with your wisdom and knowledge.  Come forth and be here now."

Everyone repeats, "Be here now."

East is always second and makes the call while standing facing east and saying "I call to the powers of the East, the powers of Air.  Bless us with your Awareness and Powers of Meditation.  Come forth and be here now."

Everyone repeats, "Be here now."

South is always third and makes the call while standing facing south and saying "I call to the powers of the South, the powers of Fire.  Bless us with your passion and change.  Come forth and be here now."

Everyone repeats, "Be here now."

West is always last and makes the call while standing facing West and saying "I call to the powers of the West, the powers of Air.  Bless us with your intellect and winds of change.  Come forth and be here now."

Everyone repeats, "Be here now."

Call to the Goddess – I call to the Goddess Kore…the goddess of Springtime, to bring with her warmth and greenery to remind us of the Spring soon coming.  To give us strength to last through the Cold and Dark Winter.  Come forth and be here now.

 Everyone repeats, "be here now."

Call to the God - I call to the god Arawen...the king of the gods of the underworld.  It is the longest night of the year therefore comforting you the god of the otherworld.  Protect us in this darkness.  Come forth and be here now.

Everyone repeats, "be here now."

           Any Spells or Healings

This is where you would burn a candle for someone you need to send energy to or for.  THis is where we decorated our yule tree and made our yule wishes, and lit our yule candles.

Cakes and Ale

For cakes and ale the Priestess consecrates the cakes and starts to feed the person to her Left and says, "may you never hunger" that person feeds the person to their left and etc. until it goes around once.

The Priest consecrates the ale with the athame and offers the person to his left a drink and says, "may you never thirst"  again, it continues until it goes around once.

Music, Chanting, dancing,

Feasting and socializing.....

We pass the bread and Mead (cakes and ale) and continue to chat and drum and dance (space permitting)

Closing the Circle

In reverse order…North, West, South, East.

“I thank the Element of the North, Power of Earth.  Stay if you will and go if you must….hail and farewell.”

Etc…..

Then thank the God and the Goddess…

“I thank Kore for her presence this eve.  We thank her for the gift of warmth and for the forthcoming of Spring.  Stay if you will and go if you must.  Hail and farewell.”

The Circle is now open.

Sing…The circle is open but unbroken, may the peace of the Goddess be ever in your heart…Merry Meet, and merry part and merry meet again.
