Water Meditation by Helen Storm
Before beginning make sure you are comfortable and will not be disturbed. When you are ready, begin breathing slowly. In through your mouth, out through your nose. (Pause)
When you are relaxed, you see you are standing atop a staircase. Walk down the staircase. (Pause)
At the bottom is a door. Open the door and walk through it. (Pause)
You are standing atop a cliff overlooking the ocean. (Pause)
The waves crash against the cliff. Feel the spray as it rises up over you. Taste the salt in the air. (Pause)
You see a dolphin playing in the distance. Feel the pull of the tide on you. (Pause)
Finally, you dive into the ocean. You sink to the bottom and begin to swim. You find you are able to breathe and quite comfortable in the water. Take a moment and enjoy the water. (Pause)
Ahead, you notice little lights in the water. Swim toward them. Note any animals you see. (Pause)
The lights get bigger and brighter. Finally, you see a group of electric eels swimming around a womana mer-woman. Her hair floats around and her fin moves gracefully in the water. She is laughing and playing with the eels. (Pause)
She notices you and smiles: Welcome, child. Love, anger, sadness, all are mine. The hidden depths of the mind, my playground. What you feel, my wisdom. Tell me, child, what is it you would experience?
Reply. Note her reply and any messages she gives you. (Pause)
When you are done talking, one of the eels breaks away and guides you back the way you came. Note any signs or animals you encounter along the way. (Pause)
You reach the edge and walk onto the beach. In the cliff is your door. Open it and walk through it. Return up the steps and open your eyes feeling relaxed, refreshed, and remembering all you have learned.
