Fire Meditation by Helen Storm
Before beginning make sure you are comfortable and will not be disturbed. When you are ready, begin breathing slowly. In through your mouth, out through your nose. (Pause)
When you are relaxed, you see you are standing atop a staircase. Walk down the staircase. (Pause)
At the bottom is a door. Open the door and walk through it. (Pause)
You stand at the base of a volcano. Sparse trees stand bare against the gray rock of the volcano. Smoke billows from the top. The air is hot. (Pause)
You notice a path winding up the volcano. Follow it, taking note of any animals you encounter. (Pause)
Halfway up, you stop at a campsite. A fire ring of rocks surround a campfire. Sit before the fire. (Pause)
You notice the small red salamanders crawling in the fire. Suddenly, the fire grows and a woman is formed in the flames. Her hair is the red of the flames and her skin is burnt black.: I am heat embodied. The passion that drives humanity. The heat and rage that courses through you in love and anger. What is it you would have with me?
Reply. Listen to her response. Note any message. (Pause)
When you are finished speaking, return down the path. Take note of any signs or animals you see. (Pause)
At the base, you see your door. Open it and go through it. Return up the steps and open your eyes feeling relaxed, refreshed, and remembering all you have learned.
