Just what is Salvation?
Webster's Dictionary defines it as "Spiritual rescue from sin and death".  The Bible tells us from whom this rescue comes.
John 3:16 & 17
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him
John 3: 35 & 36
The Father loves the Son and has placed everthing in His hands. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him.
Do you really need salvation?
Yes! None of us are perfect. It is for this reason that Jesus was sent to be our sacrifice. We cannot earn our way to heaven.
Ephesians 2: 8 & 9A
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works...
Romans 22: 23
This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
John 14: 6
Jesus answered, "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me".
How do you receive this gift of salvation?
Acts 2:38
Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins."
Mark 16: 16
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
