Squad Names-
1. Blair Whibley
Goalkeeper   An excellent and solid keeper who is always looking to improve. Blair is a great shot stopper, he reads situations well and reacts quickly. A very consistent performer.
2. Ryan Sinclair
Defender        Solid, reliable, and consistent defender. Ryan reads the game very well and seems to always be in the right place at the right time (doesnt get that from his dad). Comfortable in any of the full back positions.
3. Iain Smith
Defender     Smithy is a good solid reliable defender, with a great left foot on him. Likes to get forward at corners. Reads the game very well and is very consistent.
4. Owen Gray
Defender       First season with Cove Boys. Owen is a very quick steady player who has quickly settled into the team. Comfortable on the ball and is improving. Great attitude in both training and in matches. Best hair style in the team !!!
5. Craig Johnston
Defender      First season with Cove Boys. A fast improving player. Craig is deceptively quick and reads the game very well. So far C J has been outstanding in the middle of the defence this season. Comes off the pitch like he has stepped off the catwalk.
6. Greg Annand
Defender       The thinker. A quiet player in the team, his boots do the talking on the pitch. Greg has a great football brain also fantastic vision on the pitch. Great attitude in both training and in matches. One of the first names on the team sheet.
7. Cameron McBain
Midfield       Mickey is the speed merchant in the side, very quick going down the wing. Has been known to score the odd spectacular goal from 1 yard. A fast improving player. Has a great attitude to matches and training.
8. Paul Steele
Midfield       Along with Greg P, Paul is the heart beat of the centre midfield. Very strong in the tackle, great work-rate and scores his fair share of goals. Drives the team on and his dad nuts.
9. Keiran McRonald
Forward          Fantastically skilled player, brilliant ball control which mesmerises opponents. Keiran is an opposing defenders nightmare as he gives them no rest. Has a great attitude.
10. Greg Pickard
Midfield        Greg works very hard in centre midfield along side Paul. Fantastic energy in matches and never seems to tire. Greg has a good goal scoring record, having the knack of popping up in the box at the right time.
11. Blair Davies
Midfield        Pocket dynamo, Blair is an opponents nightmare as he never stops running at them. Bags of tricks, which usually are on show during our matches. Great player to have in any team.
12. Ben Miller
Defender      First season with Cove Boys. Comfortable on the ball and has plenty of pace. Ben is an adaptable player who seems to play well in any position. Great attitude in both training and matches.
14. Arran Watson        Forward         A regular goalscorer for the team. Arran is now starting to use his pace and vision to great effect. A fast improving player. Looking for 30 goals this season. No pressure!!!!
15. Aidan Barrister
Forward         One of the hardest working players in the team. Aidan never gives up chasing lost causes, often scores goals out of nothing situations. Has a fantastic attitude to both games and training. A coaches dream.
16. Jake Duncan          Midfield        Veg is valuable member of the team, a player who is comfortable playing in most positions for the team. Great attitude and gives his all in both training and in matches. We think Jake may attend the same catwalk school as C J.

Match Results & Reports
Cove Boy's 13's
18/05/2008 Away Won 2-1
Great 1st performance by the boy's, they passed the ball very well today. Signs are encouraging for the season ahead. Gary Smith had some great words of encouragement for the boys after the match.

Glentanar
25/05/2008 Away Won 4-3
Good hard working performance. Came back from 1-3 down with some strong play particularly from midfield + up front. Good performance as well from Bob Simpson's Glentanar side.

Culter Colts
07/09/2008 Away Drew 2-2
Excellent passing display by the boy's today. Totally outplayed Culter, 2-0 up until
Last 10 mins. Deserved a better result.  Well played Culter though as they never gave up.

Fernhill Rovers
14/09/2008 Away Won 7-2
Okay display today, failed to reach the level of last week, although this was a thoroughly deserved win. Need to defend better as a unit.

Stonehaven YFC Athletic
21/09/2008 Home Drew 3-3
Poor first half TEAM defensive display, but the boys picked it up after h/time and came from 2 goals down to earn a well deserved 3-3 draw against a strong Stonehaven side.
Another good competitive match against Brian Doyles team.

Fraserburgh link up YFC
28/09/2008 Away Lost 0-9
Very poor performance, not helped by a poor ref. 0-2 down at half time, lost seven 2nd half goals of which at least 4 were offside. Disappointing day as the boy's struggled on a huge pitch against a huge team.

Kemnay
05/10/2008 Home OFF
Kemnay called off due to their lack of players.

Ellon Meadows
12/10/2008 Away Won 3-2
The team battled very hard for the entire match to earn the victory against a hard working Ellon side. Played some great football in the first twenty minutes then dug in to earn the win.

Cornhill BC
19/10/2008 Away OFF
Cornhill called off due to their lack of players.

Glendale
26/10/2008 Home OFF
Glendale called off due to their lack of players

Kintore BC
02/11/2008 Away Won 3-2
Great game between two well matched sides. Our first period produced some of our best passing so far this season. Kieran netted a great hat trick. Strong play from big Greg Annand and CJ at the back.

Insch & District FC
09/11/2008 Home Won 5-0
Fine passing performance from the boy's, totally dominated the game from start to finish. Great to see Owen & Ben hit their first goals for Cove & Greg Annand get his first of the season. Iain also in great form at centre back. Well done lads.

Culter BC Colts
16/11/2008 Away Drew 1-1
Robbed of victory today by a diabolical decision by the home referee. Allowing a blatant offside goal to stand nearly 3 minutes into stoppage time. Giving offside direct from a throw in etc, frustrating for the boys who felt robbed of victory.

Glentanar
21/12/08  Away  Lost 0-7
Outplayed by Glentanar today in very windy conditions. Only 11 players available  and although the boys worked away, we were well off the pace. Well played Bob Simpson's team.

Sheddocksley
11/01/09  Away  Lost 0-3
Lost 2 early goals to bad mistakes. Fought back well but just could not score, hit the post 3 times before losing a late 3rd goal. Need to clear our line better and take our chance's when they are there.

East End
18/01/09  Home  Lost  1-2
Much better performance by the boy's today. Denied a late penalty for hand ball as we fought to level the match. Very well taken goal by Keiran, who lobbed the keeper after a great through ball by Paul. Big Greg Annand in fine form at the back again. Well played East End.

Stonehaven YFC Athletic
25/01/2009  Away   Cancelled  Waterlogged Pitch

Glentanar
01/02/2009  Home   Lost 0-2
Better hard working performance today. We made Glentanar work hard to earn their victory. Need to create more up front. Particularly good performance today from Blair Whibley.
Culter Colts

Ok display today in very windy conditions. Did well to keep the ball on the deck and created numerous chances. Superb finish by Jake for his goal. Good performances from Ben Miller, Blair Davies & Keiran MacRonald.
