My Fashion Story

I was born in Manila, Philippines, traveled to Europe before ending up here in Arizona. Most of my designs and the clothing I make is very much influenced by my culture bound persona. I love who I am and where I come from, but I also love being here in America. I think I am one of the many who respect this country and the people in it, especially the attitude towards the career of fashion design. In the Philippines, being a fashion designer is otherwise known as just another seamstress and is difficult to stand out (so I am told). I guess that's why when my mother found out that I was pursuing a career in fashion design, she tried to sway me towards other careers like Accounting. So, after a few years in college I was working as Senior Accounting Clerk in the Sales Audit department for a nationwide company. But after having an anxiety attack at only the age of 20. I decided to go back to working on my dream. Now, I have the full support of my mother, friends, family and clients to really feel I can make it in the industry.

The United States has provided many talented people like myself to really be able to succeed in career that is regarded in every 3rd world country as common. But here, I feel at home and I'm able to see my dreams come to life. I feel so lucky to be able to meet people who think that I am talented, because I know how to sew, design, crochet, make anything craft related and even paint. I really believe that here in America that there are not so many "starving artist", because there are people out there who admire us.

As I am designing my global themed clothing, I would like to try to coordinate my own show with my ideas of culture bound clothing, where about 15 local designers create clothing with influences from Asian, African, Latin / Hispanic and European cultures and adapting it to what we would wear in current fashion.

I am working alot of things right now and it will be coming out with more casual, formal and bridal clothing in the next couple months, so if I don't update this site very much you know why. I'd love to hear of what you think and what you like to see more of or if you want to see what I've been working on I'll update the site just for you. Also, if you want to put together a show and have ideas of clothing you need help on, let me know. I love helping and meeting new people.
