| this week its winter but its warm and cold the snow may come down but it just doesn't hold i wait for the bus to head to town the people drive by with their windows down. i took off my shirt to get some sun. its no big deal! not cold, but fun! later its time to drive to my job i can't be late, they think i'm a slob banks of snow melted in the day formed a pond called my driveway thawed and frozen giant thick ice my car's got no chance not even with loaded dice what should i do? my tires just spin - front-wheel drive, there's no way to win i need a dog-team maybe they could pull? or just my neighbor's dog, he's big as a bull. i could break up the ice with shovel or ice-pick pave the way so my tires will stick maybe lots of salt? i'd need a salt-maker i don't have much, only one shaker i give up! it's not meant to be my car is stuck this ice has beat me i call my boss bound by ice-plating not going to work, taking up ice-skating Copyright Jan. 3, 2005 X Mackay |
