2005 is now 3 months old and I know for a fact that the honing for our trip to Co. Mayo and environs is already at full speed. I have talked to most of the lads and everyone is looking forward to travelling. I have managed since Christmas to put a few rounds together 34/37 points. The lows were lows. Typical early season scoring, even our leader has had the same problem. I am sure he will rectify it. As for me a political saying comes to mind. A little done and a lot to do.
The grapevine is working as it has been brought to my notice that a past winner is seriously making an attempt to carry off first prize again. The story I heard really takes believing. I ask you. Would you consider breaking your hand not once, but twice? To cure a slice? Well really wicked slice. The augmentation has taken place and he is back playing. If the surgery works I am sure someone else will carry out further surgery on this rather large handicap. Another little nugget to digest comes from over the water. I have just received an update on the augmentation piece earlier in this article. Now I know most of you know how hard it is to lose 1 stroke off something. How about doubling that to 6? Finally on a more sombre not I hear bookings are down this year. Does that mean some of the bredren are skiving off to sunnier climbs? If my information is correct it seems a section of the Manchester party are thinking of doing just that. I know all the united fans are a bit pissed off at the moment but that�s no excuse to miss our yearly pilgrimage to the holy mount of St. Patrick in Co. Mayo. Those of us at home are praying for you to change your plans and make the trip. God knows we love you. Honest we�re not all ABU�s! Please come and bring a friend. And don�t forget our now 15 handicapper will be unveiled and let loose to see if he can get in single figures before the weekend.
