Charley
Long, Sr. moved, and Paulene McCabe seconded to approve the minutes of January
12, 2004. The motion was approved
by acclamation.
a. Small
System Forum of April 9:
i.
It was determined that Larry Winn would notify Mike Daly
that we were putting him in charge of firming up the arrangements.
b. County
Water Issues- Extended discussion of regional solutions, using Gallup Regional
System as the primary example. Each
small system was urged to come forward by the time of the Forum with their
respective projections concerning future supply and delivery adequacy as
preparation for eventual regional planning.
Discussion included possible reserve-osmosis addition to the Gallup
municipal and (thereby, the extension) to the Gallup Regional System.
c. Current
and Upcoming Legislative Issues-Discussion of HB 725/SB 774 as needed attempts
to acquire now-Federal match $ for BOR’s Feasibility Study for Gallup reverse
osmosis capability. All liked the
ideas. Larry suggested a phone
tree/e-mail tree to support this effort, to be co-ordinated through Rose Marie
Esquivel, GJU Secretary. All asked to
be included.
d. County
Commissioners/County Attorney briefing on water supply issues-Larry reported
that he will conduct the briefing with Doug Decker and perhaps others
preparatory to the Commissioners Tom Trujillo, and Doug going to Washington
D.C. in early March.
e. Next
meeting-It was determined that the regular meeting time, the second Wednesday,
would probably not be best for March due to the non-availability of Jeff, Evan,
and Larry Legislation Session. It was
agreed that the next meeting would be held Wednesday, March 30.
Remaining
agenda items were not discussed.

Winn, President
