| Bread of The Day Sourdough Orange |
| Oster Sourdough Bread Sourdaough starter has been in our family for over 40 years. It came to us via a friend who had been visiting in Seattle, Washington. Little did we realize what a special treat we were getting. My father, who was a minister in Burley, Idaho at the time, started making pancakes and waffles with the starter. They were wonderful. As I got older he showed me how to make the dough and how to make bread and rolls from it. I really enjoyed working with the dough. I have experimented with the dough to see what other things will work with the starter. From this has come some wonderful new kinds of Oster Sourdough Breads. Our breads are unique and our recipes are our own. To make our bread even more unusual we use the sourdough as the leavening agent. Our bread is hand-formed and baked without molds for a natural, rustic shape. The end result is bread with a great chewy texture, earthy flavor and a rich, roasted crust. Bread is like nothing else; it is a product of the earth - flour, water and salt. The dough changes daily, depending on everything from weather to water temperature and even altitude, and it takes a true artist with a natureal feel for the product to trun the humble ingredients into a delecious loaf of bread. |
