Welcome to Thanksgiving
at
Country Spice
Thanksgiving is my favorite
holiday. I usually make dinner for my family. I love the way the
house smells when I have all the food cooking. We don't really like to
travel on Thanksgiving because here in New York the traffic is absolutely
impossible. It can take you two hours to go ten miles, so we just stay
at home and spend time together. Thanksgiving is a time to remember what
we have, not what we don't have. Just remember that there is always
someone who has less than we do. Sure we all would love to have newer
cars or bigger houses but we have to be thankful for what we have.
If you have your health, consider yourself the luckiest person on the face
of the earth, because all the money in the world cannot make someone who
is terminally ill get better. I used to wake up in the morning and
say to myself "ughh I have to do the laundry today, or I have to cook dinner
tonight or I have to make the bed." Then I realized that I should
be thankful that I have to do the laundry cause it means I have clothes
to wear. And be thankful that I have to cook dinner because that means
that I have the food to eat. And be thankful that I have to make the bed
because it means that every night I can go into a warm bed and sleep.
So the next time you wake up on a Monday morning and say "ugh I have to
go to work today", just remember that at least you have a job to go to,
because so many people don't. Now I'm not saying that we should never
want anything that we don't have. Everyone wants things, myself included.
I want lots of things. What I'm saying is that we just have to be
thankful for what we do have because I bet if you really think about it,
you have a whole lot.
