So this is "Mister Gabriel" but we just call him "Gaber" Oh what a hand full here, but so much fun. He was born January 28, 2003. I was at my moms house and Ben had to work night shift so he left to go to work around 10 that night. About an hour later I headed off to bed.Ten mins after gettin in bed my water broke. Scared me half to death cause I thought I just peed all over myself. LOL. So I went to my moms room and told her what happened and we headed off to the hospital.
When I got there, they hooked me all up to the baby monitor and said that you will have a long night ahead of you so try to get some sleep. Yea well easier said then done, cause every 30 mins I had to go to the bathroom. We kept callin Ben at work, but it was so hard to get a hold of anyone on night shift, so I eventually had mom call his step mother and she tried doing all she could. About 6 am he finally showed up...all out of breath. The pains weren't bad at all until about 11 that morning. I was so uncomfortable, so I told them "Epideral time" Oh gosh...Everyone thinks this hurts sooooo bad, but compared to the pain you are in it is like complete joy. lol About 1 pm the shot wore off. So they incresed the meds going in me...still wore off an hour later. About 4 that afternoon they told me "OK Amy we are going to get set up" When we tell you to push, you do so." LOL Yeah well lets just say IT WAS PAINFUL. Funny thing about it was, one time I looked up and there were like 15 people in the room all lookin at "well you know where" didn't bother me though! He finally showed up at 5:10 that evening. 17 hours of labor. I so hope when we have the next one it won't be that long. I really don't know how some woman got through 20 plus hours. LOL. All praise to them!
The funniest thing about it all was, every time I went to the doctor before I had Gabe he kept tellin us "You better go out and buy girls clothes." Oh so we did. LOL. And noone had any idea he was going to be a boy until he popped out. Everyone was so shocked, I wasn't all that surprised due to the fact I was happy either way. Mainly because he was out!
Bu that is my litte buddies story on how he arrived in this world. I am so thankful for him. He changed me so much for the better. I now know how to unconditionally love someone with no reason why. As soon as I looked at him I was in love and never new what my life was like before he came. |
