Local Provider Information

In order to become a licensed child care provider in the state of California, you must first take a licensing orientation class in your county. For Amador County, you need to contact HRC/Child Care Resources (link provided below.) After taking the class you will be provided with a packet of information to fill out and return to California Department of Social Service, Community Care Licensing Division. You'll need fingerprints, background check, home inspection, and CPR/First Aid/ Health and Safety classes.

Before you start enrolling children in your daycare, think about how you want to run your business. I recommend you have a contract and Parent Policy and Procedure Handbook. I've been doing childcare for many years and gathered tons of different policies from other providers. The result is a very detailed handbook.
