John Uglow & Anne Jolliffe


Anne JOLLIFFE chr Oct 19 1729 in Jacobstow,
the daughter of John UGLOW and Mary PITTEN.

Anne was 1st married to Digory RIDGMAN on Nov 9 1749 in Treneglos.
Digory died on Jun 17 1750 in Warbstow.
Their little son John RIDGMAN, was born Oct 7th, only 4 months after Digory's death.

John and Anne had 7 children:

2) William chr Mar 18 1759 / buried Jan 27 1809 in Jacobstow
married to Jane BRAY on Nov 4 1784 in St Gennys (11 children)
(Jane was the daughter of John BRAY and Jane)

married to Thomas DINNER on Mar 20 1794 in Jacobstow

4) John Jolliffe chr Feb 13 1764 / died Apr 18 1836 in Jacobstow
married to Agnes ORCHARD on Dec 2 1801 in Week St Mary

5) Ann chr Apr 5 1767 / died Feb 23 1839 in St Gennys
married to Thomas JEWELL on Jul 11th 1793 in St Gennys

6) Margaret chr Nov 12 1769 / died Aug 1st 1792 in Jacobstow
married to J RIDGMAN

7) Edward chr Mar 12 1775 / died Jul 20 1855 in Jacobstow
married to Marjery HOSKYN on Nov 24 1796 in Egloskerry (9 children)
(Marjery was the daughter of John HOSKYN and Mary BAKER)

John UGLOW was a yeoman at Broad Langdon in Jacobstow.

Anne JOLLIFFE was buried Aug 23 1789 in Jacobstow.

John UGLOW married 2nd to Mary PROUT on Dec 12 1793,
dying a few years later and buried on May 23 1804.
His monumental inscription is on Jacobstow Church Tower Wall.

John UGLOW and Anne JOLLIFFE are Ed's 5X GR grandparents.
