Annie Thomason & William Lord

Annie THOMASON was born Sep 22 1899 in Atherton Lancashire,
the daughter of John THOMASON & Esther TICHBORNE.

William LORD was born Jul 23 1898 in Atherton Lancashire,
the son of James LORD & ?

Annie & Bill had 10 children born between 1921 and 1935.
The first 7 were born in Atherton Lancashire while the last 3 were born in Kimberley BC.

The family was struck by tragedy early on .....

Joan was born Feb 29 1929 in Atherton,
only 1 month before they set sail for Canada.

Annie, Bill and their little family left Lancashire about Mar 25 1929.
Tragically for the newborn, she contracted 'Marasmus'on board ship from England
and was very ill by the time they reached their new permanent home
in Kimberley BC somewhere around Apr 27th.

According to her death certificate,
baby Joan was only 2 months 17 days old when she died.
Little Joan was under doctor's care from April 30th til her death on May 11th at 7:30pm.

The 2nd tragedy to strike this family
occurred when their last child was born Feb 22 1935.
According to his death certificate,
the poor little fellow suffered a 'Cerebral Hemorrhage' about 3 hours after birth and died.

During the next 10 years, the family lived in Kimberley.

The Christmas of 1945 just after WWII must have been especially tragic for the family
as their dear mother Annie suffered a 'Cerebral Hemorrhage'
and died on Dec 23 1945 with the funeral on Dec 29th.

Bill lived several more years, dying Feb 18 1960.
