| Lady was our very first foster child from IMPS. She was picked up at a "High Kill Shelter". When I picked her up, she was covered in fleas, shaking and totally skin & bones. I could count every bone in her back bone. She had no muscles in her body and was just awful looking. I thought to myself, "What am I doing? I can't help this animal." But little did I know that she was going to help me help her. When I got her home and she met my other dogs, she was totally scared out of her mind. I really started rethinking our decision to foster miniature pinschers. But little did we know, she was going to help us through this tough change, like we were going to help her. I took her to the vet to have her checked out. She weighed in at 7 lbs. Still skin and bones. She had horrible trust issues. She has a skin allergy and has lost quite a bit of her fur, but she is overcoming. She loves her sweaters. My husband adopted her on Christmas morning for me, because I had just gotten too attached to her to make a good decision for a new home. He had also gotten attached to her. She is our first little miracle. She is now still at 7 lbs, but she has muscle built up and is starting to gain weight. |
