TORTILLA SOUP

*My families favorite Soup!

1 med onion ,chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 Tbsps oil
2 cans beef bouillon or 3 cups water and 3 bouillon cubes
2 cans chicken broth
1/2 c. tomato sauce
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp chili powder
1 Jalapeno, chopped
3/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 and 1/2 c chicken ,cooked and diced
1 large tomato, diced
tortilla strips, fried crisp
Monterey jack cheese or Parmesan cheese grated

Saute onion and garlic in oil. Add Beef and chicken broths,
tomato sauce. cumin, chili powder, jalapenos. I like to use 2, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil. cover and simmer 1 hour. Add chicken and tomato. Cook 5 minutes. Cut tortillas into narrow strips and fry till crisp and golden. Place a few strips in bowls. Fill with hot soup . garnish with more tortilla strips and cheese . Can add avocado slices if preferred but I am not fond of them so , this is your choice as I tell my family.

P.S. I forgot that I add torn corn tortillas in the soup as it simmers for that hour to add more flavor and thickening to it.
