| If you ever come to Pinedale in the Winter this trip is a must-do. The trail starts about 30 miles north of Pinedale (going towards Jackson Hole). The trail head is just off the highway... but be prepared to park like an expert. The parking lot is always full because not only do snowmobilers come here... dog sled teams come here to practice too. We must have passed 4 teams on this trip. MUSH! You ride your snowmoblie about 7-8 miles and come to an abandoned log house... that's where you park your snowmobile. Then you walk up the hill just a little bit and there is a new log cabin and the hot springs. Naturally, the hot springs dumped out onto rocks and made a stream, so they built a small swimming pool to catch the hot water so you can go swimming in it. It costs a few bucks a person to go swimming and there are changing rooms by the pool. The ride up really is fun. If you just rode your snowmobile in to the springs and back out you'd only have about 2 hours into it. But we took all day. There is a really pretty waterfall about half way up. There are steep hills on both sides to... so if you wanted to practice snowboarding that's fun too. |

| Winter 2004/2005 wasn't famous for it's snow fall.... but by the looks of this building (public outhouse) we get our fair share. | |||||||
