Quilt Categories
The most significant changes to our quilt category requirements are in how quilts are separated by size. Instead of ‘Bed quilt, Wall quilt, and Juvenile quilt’ categories which often were broadly interpreted and confusing to many, we have chosen to go to a more detailed and less ambiguous description. Quilts will be determined to be Large, Medium, Small or Miniature based entirely on the sum of the length and width of the quilt.
Quilt Registration
*Registration will be Wednesday, 4-22-09, from 5-8pm and Thursday, 4-23-09, from 10am –4pm.
*A check box will be on the registration form to indicate any item as professionally quilted or quilted by ‘self’ (for machine and hand quilting)
*Quilt labels must be covered prior to registration.
*Only 2 quilts per numbered category.
*Quilts should arrive in bags with owner’s name on it (pillowcases OK if labeled) plastic bags will not be saved for pick-up.
*Quilts will be registered by number with a description, owner’s name and who will be picking up the quilts, if owner cannot.
*Choose category for judging carefully; it will not be changed.
*All entries must be ‘new’ (should not have been in our previous shows) except for Theme Quilt Exhibit quilts.
*Quilts should be clean and odor-free.
Quilt Pick-up
*Show ends at 4pm on Sunday at which time gymnasium will be cleared of all guests; doors will be closed.
*Raffles will be drawn and winners present notified.
*Quilt owners (or pick-up person) will form line behind the main doors.
*Guild member will collect entry ticket receipts from the owner, and retrieve the quilts.
*Quilt owner will sign the receipts and return them to the guild member.
*Quilt owner can then leave with her quilts.
