My friend Sara and I went to see Shane and Yankee Grey at the St. Louis County Fair and Air Show. They were both really good. They each performed for about an hour, which surprised me.

Shane was good. I felt he was trying too hard sometimes. But he sounded great. His band was really good. He even has a female fiddle player, who, in my opinion, looks just like Sara Michelle Gellar, from "Buffy". The only bad thing was they highlighted the band, like a lot of artists do, but they did it twice..... too much time without Shane! He sang a song Richard Marx wrote. Did a lot from his CD, including "Sliver of the Moon:", which I fell in love with, and hope gets released. Skip Ewing wrote it! He also did a cover or two. Now, he is the second country artist that I have seen do Aerosmith's "Walk This Way" (the other David Kersh).

He signed after, while the fireworks show went on. Too bad he couldn't see it, since he was under a tent, and facing the opposite direction. He was really nice. He asked everyone their names, thanked them for coming. I had him sign Music City News, with an article on him. And we got pictures.

Here's me and Shane.....I had him sign the picture the next time I saw him.

It was really great, esp for only $6!  :)  I would go see both artists again.
