Washington Town and Country Fair

August 10, 1997

Washington, MO

The concert on Sunday, August 10th, at the Washington Town and Country Fair was great! Bryan and the guys were awesome!!! Me and my friends Carla and Jeb were there at about 8:30 am. The concert started at 8pm. We got first row, of the unreserved seats.   The first 5 were blocked off for Fair personnel and their families. We weren't center. We were more on Brinson's side. (Not a bad side to be on!) We saw Bryan out by his bus. He waved several times. They went to play golf in the afternoon. I saw Monty with a fishing pole too. They were right by the lake. LeAnn Rimes was also there. I got a little sun burned. But it was worth it. We got to hear the whole souond check. Derek even sang a little during it. They played "Love is the Right Place" over the speakers, and 3 more songs from the upcoming album. Very good!

Bryan was wearing jeans and a blue polo shirt. Brinson had on jeans and a black short-sleeved shirt. Derek had on jeans, a t-shirt, and a silver velour shirt.

They started off with "So Much For Pretending". They did, in no order, "Rebecca Lynn", "Sittin' On Go", "Let's Do Something", "That's Another Song", "Someone Else's Star", "Love is the Right Place", "Southern Nights", "I Can't Make You Love Me" (with LeAnn), 3 new songs, "Superstitous", a tease of "Eugene", "Stand By Me". And a few more Ican't think of right now. Derek sang "Pride and Joy". They went down on their knees twice during "Southern Nights". The show was about an hour and a half.

The Meet n Greet. I ended up meeting a few people from the mailing list. (Hi Sara, Kimmie Sue, everyone else!) I made Bryan a cross stich picture with a fishing theme. I had the tour book for him to sign. We were all pretty close to the front of the line. They were rushing everyone a bit. I gave Brinson my camera. This is how it went:

Me: Hi Bryan. My name's Jennifer.

Bryan: Hi. nice to meet you.

Me: Could you sign this for me? (gave him my book, opened it to the right page) On this page?

Bryan: Sure. (signed his name) (he put his arm around my shoulders, and Brinson took the picture. My head was like an inch or two from his!!! =) )

Me: This is for you. (handed him the box) (I thought maybe he'd just say thanks, and take it)

Bryan: Let's see what's in there. (opens it) Wow. Did you make this?

Me: Yes.

Bryan: How long did it take?

Me: Not too long.

Bryan: Thank you. (while giving me a hug)

Me: Your're welcome.

Bryan: Take care.

Me: You too.

It was only a minute, but it was the best!
