| Guadeloupe is a French department. It is situated in the Caribbean Sea. It's a very nice island (ai land) with nice beaches and rivers. There are also beautiful landscapes. The national (or the local meal, not in France) meal is called "Colombo." It is some rice with cooked meat. The meat can be goat (they call it cabri or chevre in French) There is a special spice called Colombo, so that is why we call the dish "Colombo"... when you cook the meat, you add the spice and the meat takes the color, either green or yellow. The drink is called Ti Punch. It is important in Guadeloupe culture because all the people drink it. It is some sugar cane alcohol**, and you add sugar (from sugar cane), and then you add a slice of green lemon. (In USA it is called "lime") There are many nice places to visit and I advise you to spend some vacation time there. **(the alcohol comes from the sugar cane). Martinique My country is so beautiful with a lot of beaches around it. You can do a lot of activities like cinema, visiting the beaches, sail, and aquatic activities. You can see the sunset everywhere on the island. The sun is shining all the time. You can test some local fruit like mangue (mango), coco, and ignam (it' not a fruit, but it is a local vegetable that grows underground. It is a root vegetable).
