"Are you from Columbia?"

(They never spell it correctly)

I live in the capital of Colombia, that is Bogota.
Bogota is a big city with, a think , almost 7 millions people.
The capital is located in the center of the country, in the mountains, an it have an altitude of 2900mts of the sea level.

Bogota is not really affect for the seasons, so the difference in weather is determined by the raining season, that's the big difference.

Been Bogota a big city, is also affect for a big crime rate. It have a lot of cultural and entretaiment activities, that unfortunate for the danger situation of the country, became very dangerous to attempt.

During the week, like any city the people are busy in their own activities, but during the weekends, the people try to go aotside in the country to eat in nice restaurants.

A sad story:

It will be helpful to studnts from USA and Europe and Asia to learn what is happeeing in Colombia.  One of my students told me that his father used to work for the national police force.  His entire family was under threat.  The student needed to have a bodyguard when he was driving to and from school.  It was a bad situation and the family moved to USA to ask for political asylum.  This story will help US people udnerstand that there is a useful function that the USA serves to provide shelter to people who are persecuted.

ANSWERS

I live in Bogota, the capital of Colombia.  Bogota is a big city with, I think , almost 7 million people.   The capital is located in the center of the country, in the  mountains, and it has an altitude of 2900 meters above sea level.

Bogota is not really affected by the seasons, so the big difference in weather is determined by the  rainy season.
Being a big city, Bogota is also affected by a  high crime rate. It has a lot of cultural and entertainment activities, but unfortunately (because of the dangerous situation of the country),  it has   become very dangerous to attend these events.
During the week, like any city, the people are busy in their own activities, but during the weekends, the people try to go outside to eat at nice restaurants.in the country.
Thanks to my class, especially Senhor Zapata, for their corrections.  Also thanks to Edith, Santiago, Constanza, Leticia, Rafael and Frank.
