The Dawn of Spring

The barren clay ovals will soon come alive
To the sound of 410s, how did we survive
The long cold of winter and the silence around
Where Outlaws were only in our dreams to be found

But one thing's different this year to last
There's a driver missing, one of the fast
The G-Man is watching from a place high above
Where he gets his rewards for a a life full of love

A love for his racing, of running up high
A love for his family that we can't deny
We remember him for all of his good
He was one of the best, we always knew he could

So when they go 4-wide at Knoxville, emotions are strong
The crowd'll be wishing that Kevin was along
For the ride up high looking for traction
Remember the G-Man, that was his satisfaction

GOD BLESS YOU G-MAN!

Goodbye Kevin

There's got to be a speedway somewhere in heaven's glow
God keeps needing drivers to make up his great show
Over the years the numbers have grown
Each one a tragedy, that much we've known

I don't know why, but I guess it's his show
When your number's up, you can't not go
The latest is Gobrecht in the #93
Let's hope that crash has set him free.

We'll remember him for his style and grace
When he was humming, he sure could race
As an outlaw, he was one of the best
I trust his soul is now at rest.
