"The Truth Shall Set Them Free" (seen somewhere). The facts are stubborn things
(this I have seen attributed to V.I. Lenin, one of the chief sources of the problems here attacked. It might have an anterior source but since nothing is known to me about it I would credit that camp with one useful datum.)"Bernard was deeply involved in the Hiss case both as a consultant to his lawyers and as a friend and counselor of the Hiss family. etc. "The Facts were as follows :
(more or less as known to me ; make sure to check out the facts very carefully before you opine with any certainty, the reader) :
Alger Hiss had been convicted by a US court of perjury ; the fact of the perjury had been established "beyond any doubt", and should any doubts linger anywhere the documentation of these cases should be found somewhere, and at numerous sources.
The 'content' of A. Hiss' perjury were his, etc., treasonable acts against the USA. He had evaded persecution for said acts solely due to the statute of limitations.
Those acts were not a matter of the "benefit of the doubt", or, "presumed innocent till proved guilty" as some vague arguments went by people who should have known better but did not.
Tt was too late at some point, because of this statute of limitations, to prosecute him for the original crimes the facts thereof having been established beyond any doubt, but having as crimes by then fallen outside some stated period of time within which they ought to have been persecuted.
Mr. Hiss would have most probably met with far more severe penalties had his case been investigated and prosecuted in some more timely manner.
Why was it not ? One circumstance certainly present was, Franklin Delano Roosevelt had been "surrounded with people who were deceiving him" (including, of course, Hiss. There had been others, of no less interest to the diligent researcher).
In the meanwhile, and ever since, anything and everything would be brought up to obfuscate the facts of this case, the most irrelevant data being amplified, the details being distorted, the victims being blamed for the crimes, etc.
Whom do the criminal writers try to blame presently (as seen in the newspaper or the like 2007-08 ) :
1) J. Edgar Hoover, who was simply doing his job as director of the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
2) Joseph McCarthy (had he much connection with this case?) a later figure, seemingly fallible* : that was probably why an '-ism' had been formed from his name and is being plugged into the communication lines, obviously designed to obstruct or stop the flow of information on those events.
3) Richard Nixon, with his one known attempt at misleading the American public, which was withdrawn a day or two after the fact. That would be brought up over and over again especially by some writers who lie from A to Z.
3) Anybody not "communist", especially, anybody anti-Communist , so long as some unwary public somewhere would "buy" the stuff fed it by criminal writers.
Why does this thing keep going on ? I do not know why but you had better noticed it, the reader.
* The Senator "rode the wave of the popular sentiment". The popular sentiment was certainly in favor of what had been known to work for the people in America for well over a century prior to that time : and not in favor of a criminal racket sent or organized by a rival power. The factors were many, the Senator had been sometimes blamed for overdoing some things and there might be some truth to such concerns but none of this should obscure what was really going on regardless of any possible failings by an individual senator including the periods before his rise to prominence and after that.
On the "anti-Fascist" hoax, confer Boris Souvarine. This had already been noticed by 1939 ;
What was this 'anti-Fascism' ? It was confounding the developments in Italy with the developments elsewhere, which were not exactly "the same" and far from being so.
Make sure to find the text by Boris Souvarine, anyway, the reader, a critique of the communist "system", published in the USA in 1939. For some reason, certain pages in it were missing in the copy I found at the library.
Why ? There must have been some reason, for somebody to rip certain pagess off a copy of a certain text.
Can anybody read, over there at the Academia or the like ?

"Parallel to her academic career, Bernard was active in a large number of child welfare and educational organizations, and developed a particular expertise in the field of adoption. In 1939 she was sent to Europe by the Non-Sectarian Committee for German Refugee Children to assess the plight of refugee children in Britain and France. From the late 1940s into the 1980s, Bernard, along with a remarkable group of women including Justine Wise Polier, Marion E. Kenworthy, and Barbara Biber, wielded considerable influence in setting the agenda on children's issues in New York City. In particular, she had a rich, fifty-year collaboration with Polier, a New York City Family Court judge and daughter of the renowned Rabbi Stephen Wise. Along with these and other women, Bernard was involved in such organizations as the Bank Street College of Education, the Citizens' Committee for Children of New York, Louise Wise Services, the Northside Center for Child Development, the Bureau of Child Guidance of the New York City Board of Education, and the Wiltwyck School for Boys . . ."" Certain Noticeable Sorts of Fallacy :
a) To attack the Jew because of 'socialism', or
b) To attack 'socialism' because of the Jew, or
c) To defend the Jew because of 'socialism', or
d) To defend 'socialism' because of the Jew.Any one of the above is an illogic. It seems that every one of those could have been present, at the various times and places.
"The originators of bolshevism were exclusively non-Jews." * * *

THE PROVISIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR AMERICAN JEWISH CONGRESS.

Morriss Rothenberg, Chairman Executive Committee.

Bernard B. Richards, Secretary.Comment : That was obviously false. Whether the report (as found in the Internet and reproduced above) is accurate one does not know. The presence of the Red Rabbi, so to say, presumably without injustice, does fit a pattern.
Who erred and where migth remind one of the task of the proverbial needle in the hay-stack. There have been gross errors ; if uncorrected, only more error could be expected.
On Rabbi Wise :
http://www.come-and-hear.com/dilling/chapt11.html
" . . . a committeeman of the Communist-aiding American Civil Liberties Union, and also the communist American League Against War and Fascism, before, and after its change of name to American League for Peace and Democracy, with Communist Earl Browder as its national vice-chairman, and Communist Party leaders as officials. He committed himself for the anarchists Sacco and Vanzetti, for Communist dynamiter Tom Mooney, for the National Religion and Labor Foundation, featuring atheist Soviet cartoons and distributing Toward Soviet America, by Communist William Z. Foster. He ardently backed the Communist burners of Spanish Christian churches. His American Jewish Congress greeted, and he spoke for, the American League for Peace and Democracy. Its official [page 76] program was the incitement of mutiny and sabotage within the armed forces to turn any war of the USA into a Red Revolution. . . ."Comment : I am afraid that is more or less true. At least, the external data (connections with a Hiss etc) seem to corroborate such reports as above. Was this man recognized as a rabbi, anyway ? By whom ? This is problematic, the reader.
Whence "Wise" ? That has been the name of some respectable authors in England. The name does not look particularly unique so, other things being equal, this should not warrant any queries. However, the "other things" in this case are far from clear ; also in view of the following
Whence "Polier" ? The name used by in addition to the name "Wise"? This is not a typical name ; it had been found, relatively infrequently, in France ; it being a name of an apparently most respectable French family which included some notable writers.
