Comment :  Please note that this whole 'communism' is rather vague.

In practice the Bolshevik 'communism' had never meant any other than, first of all, the total subservience of the 'communists' to the Kremlin-based outfit — whoever happened to head it.

Then, the utmost flexibility was part of the premises. That in practice meant, "anything goes", so far as the introduction of "something new" was concerned. What exactly was "new" did not matter much insofar as "the Cause" be advanced.

What was "new" in this whole affair ? "Destroy all institutions" (Karl Marx) was something new at the time of its proclamation. It has been over and over observed that the Marxists had no program whatever other than destruction.

There was not much new proposed other than the "class struggle" (in practice, civil war), pseudo-scientific 'materialism' ; what else. —

Whatever was new with the Bolsheviks was exceptionally bad. New propaganda techniques had certainly been evolved. New tactics had certainly been evolved (especially of infiltration). New lies were invented on daily basis by the denizens of the Kremlin with astonishing prolixity.

Whatever was actually new and valuable would have been infiltrated ; "Join them. Bore from within. Take control." The Boy Scouts in Russia were one of the first targets of the perfidious technique.

Any and every activity in the West would be targeted. Apparently much of the Bolshevik internal subversion in the U.S., etc., had never been even suspected.

Why all this : To fight 'imperialism' ; but, whose imperialism it was that sought, and for a time did, subjugate large parts of Europe, China, Korea, Vietnam, etc., etc. ?

To abolish 'capitalism'. It needs no defending 'capitalism' to disagree with the destruction of all institutions for the sake of somebody's spooks and/or chimeras.
