Well, I don't know. The American Youth Congress was a Communist front organization which, by the way, in the years 1939-41 was active in sabotaging any efforts within the USA to help England etc. who were then being bombed by the Hitlerite Nazis.
The organization was headed by one Joseph Cadden who was a pal of one Joseph. P. Lash ; both were involved in clandestine marxist-leninist kind of activities within the US, which did also include stupefying Ms. Eleanor Roosevelt out of her wits on these subjects.
Mr. Lash had soon disavowed Communist views but knowing those people one does not believe one word of the sort ; for his later writings are clearly misleading the reader on many counts. (Albeit not over marxist propaganda, you just "read between the lines" the reader).
I do not now know much about the career of J. Cadden of the American Youth Congress ; but I find some "Religion and Spirituality" under this very heading suspicious.
