Whence CCP ?

( a historic sketch, compiled by W. Paul Tabaka )

" . . . camouflage . . . "
(Chairman Mao).

On 27 April 1927, Yosif Vissarionovitch Dzhugashvilli alias Stalin in Moscow sent a telegram to the Bolshevik agent in Hankow-China, Michael Grusenberg alias Borodin.

The telegram contained, among others, the following propositions :

A new leadership is to be created within the Kuomintang, consisting entirely of Communist Party members. The left wing of the Kuomintang is to be eliminated.

The Kuomintang is to be reconstructed along more radical lines, so that in due course the Kuomintang as a party disappears, and the Communist Party of China takes its place.

Kuomintang being the nationalist party led by Sun Yat-sen and later, notably, by Chiang Kai-shek.

Stalin's telegram, other communications from the Kremlin, were discovered, that was followed by the expulsion from China of Grusenberg (Borodin) and other Bolshevik agents.

(Note : in the meanwhile I have seen another version/translation of the given telegram by Stalin ; such items need to be checked out carefully, in order not to fall into any of the commie-installed traps.)

The story of the alliance between the Communists and the Nationalists in China is rather lengthy and intricate ; however, in many respects it is quite like any other story of any alliance with the Communists by any party.

In October 1938 Mao Tse-tung issued a secret directive to his followers, saying in part :

The Sino-Japanese war affords our party an excellent opportunity for expansion. . . There are three stages in carrying out this fixed policy ; the first is a compromising stage, in which self-sacrifice should be made to show our outward obedience to the Central Government . . . but in reality this will serve as camouflage for the existence and development of the party.

The second is a contending stage, in which two or three years should be spent in laying the foundation of our partys political and military powers . . . the third is an offensive stage in which our forces should penetrate deeply into Central China, sever the communications of the Central Government troops in various sectors, isolate and disperse them until we are ready for the counteroffensive and wrest the leadership from the hands of the Kuomintang.

The American author Louis Budenz had summed up the communistic tactics as, the coalition government was a device used by the communists always to slaughter the party with whom they entered into the coalition', this by my memory.

May such facts be considered, when considering the legitimacy of the CCP.
