Anatol Rapoport "came to the United States in 1922" — from the Soviet Union, quondam Russia (presently restored).

In this test :

The definition of man formulated by Korzybski (Manhood of Humanity) has been altogether falsely represented to have been "identical" with that by another author.
This is a most fundamental issue ; it has to do with this writer, withe the reader there, and with any human being at all. One single statement in this book introduced a 100% false datum on a question of extremely broad importance.

The functional (actional) definition had been thoroughly confounded with articles entirely repugnant to such a notion.

The definition of sanity as a matter of degree had

"In 1954, Anatol Rapoport cofounded the Society for General Systems Research" — this had wrought havoc in some possibly unexpected places.
What is that 'systems research' to be ? Systems can be formulated ; any kind of science needs systematic approach in order to be formulated and systematic presentation in order to be appreciated. A general theory of systems can be attempted, and has been, by some workers. But 'general systems research' seems an empty phrase. (I do not know much about this particular story as of this writing ; in the context of the other works by Mr. A. Rapoport one can be justified in being far exceeding skeptical.)

I find that A. Rapoport had been at some point "denounced as vulgariser" — in a version of "Certainties and Doubts" i found on-line today (May 2008). Please note, the careful scholar, that I had previously seen, also on-line, another version of "Certainties and Doubts" the text of which was in some detail markedly different.

I am not undertaking to prove anything in particular as of this writing. However, should there be differing versions of "Certainties and Doubts" by Anatol Rapoport spotted somewhere, may my personal witness corroborate such an observation. (There may be something to it, the reader).

"S. I." Rapoport ? Curious.

Did A. Rapoport actually write "Semantics, Crowell, 1975." — as found on-line (May 2008). This is the first time ever I have seen a note of such a publication. Please make sure, the careful scholar, had such a title by this author A. Rapoport been indeed published in 1975.

Google search, 'hayakawa rapoport' (May 2008) :

Comment expresing no opinion on hyperthyroidism in mice — a curious collection of names can be noticed.
