Dear Mr. Bruce R. Craig

Please note that on my search for ‘craig, bruce’, today at the University of California http://melvyl.cdlib.org I had not retrieved your title “Treasonable Doubt”.

The item did show upon my search for ‘Title’, i.e. “Treasonable Doubt”.

However, this seems not enough. Please let me tell you that is but one more instance of irregularities frequently noted by me in the cases of anything that has something to do with the, some say, non-existent, communist conspiracy.1

It is a condition that confronts us, gentlemen, and not a theory ; (I believe this could be attributed to Thomas Jefferson).

I do hope that such irregularities as this one (evidence below) will eventually cease. They should not be overlooked, in my opinion. This is a comment on the page 135 of your work.

Best regards,

W. Paul Tabaka

    1.  So and so 'groups have alleged the existence of an internationalist Communist conspiracy since the Bolshevik Revolution.' ("Treasonable Doubt", page 135).

A definition of 'conspiracy' found be me (in Packer, "Ex-communist Witnesses") :

'an agreement by two or more persons to commit a crime'.

That, by my memory by the way. I do not claim that this is the legal standard, but it probably approximates such.

The Bolshevik Revolution itself was but a series of crimes, by the legal standards of any civilized peoples.

On the character of the men (and a few women) who were the driving forces of said Revolution ample data can be found in many sources.

Those were also the men who decided the actual policies of outfits such as the Communist International. Examples : Radek, Zinoviev, Kohn alias Bela Kun, etc.

That illegal conduct was not only tolerable but it might be necessary had been plainly stated, for example by Zinoviev, in the official publications of said Communist International.

That any means of promoting the so-called World Revolution ('destroy all institutions' — in other words) were called for is plainly apparent in some writings by Ulianov alias Lenin, entirely approved by his follower Dzugashvilli alias Stalin. (Please see "The Problems of Leninism" by J. Stalin).

That the Communists in the U.S.A. did not advocate destroying the existing governments 'by force' did not mean that many persons did not actually work on destroying them — by every available means other than force. (For the time being, anyhow.)

This seems to have been the point on which M. Finkelstein-Wallach alias Litvinoff had ripped off the administration of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. (Please see the documents reproduced in "For the President" by O. Bullitt).
