Alfred Burt

From Winners of the Albert medal, 1914-1918, Chris Baker 2005

A Royal Warrant of 8 March 1866 announced the institution of a decoration to award "daring and heroic actions performed by mariners and others in danger of perishing, by reason of wrecks and other perils of the sea". This decoration was to be known as the Albert medal.   (Etc.)
