" As a Scientologist, I pledge . . . to actively decry the suppression of knowledge, wisdom, philosophy or data which would help mankind " ( Code of Scientologist by LRH, 1969, item 11).I (for one) may be not terribly advanced in the processes yet I have read a considerable amount of the written material by LRH.
I have seen mentions of 'the theory and practice' of this religion. (Please note that these are "verbal data" by me and are not to be considered as Scn. unless or until confirmed by the reader's own examination of the demonstrably authentic material by the Founder i.e. LRH.)
I have not ever seen any mentions, in any of the writings (or heard on any of the recordings), of any 'theology and practice' of this religion.
My repeated inquiries to several presumably competent terminals (high-level Scientologists including the Public Relations office) had not yielded one single statement by LRH containing the term 'theology'.
(One notes that there is a search available through the works by LRH, to which I have no access but which is presumably accessible to the terminals which I have been inquiring with. Were there any statements made by LRH concerning 'theology', such should be available well-nigh instantly to the competent terminals. So far, I do not know if LRH had ever mentioned any 'theology' at all but I have no evidence whatever to the effect that he did).
All that my inquiries had produced in response was (a) the suggestion that I clear the term 'theology'. (Why should I clear a term which does not demonstrably have anything to do with the works by L. Ron Hubbard known as Dianetics and Scientology in the context of these same works ?), and
(b) a suggestion that I phone somebody in Florida who might be able to help me with the matter. Thank you very much ; but the long-distance calls are expensive and in view of the situation as described above I do not see much prospect for any better answers that I have hitherto got.
So far as I can make anything out of these data : no 'theology' is part of the works by L. Ron Hubbard and this had been introduced by some party other than the Founder of the religion in severe violation of the Code of Scientologist and of the Ethics formulated by the Founder.
I do actively decry the the suppression of knowledge, wisdom, philosophy or data which would help mankind hereby.
I had been asked by one of the terminals, no antagonism present, why did I decry this one so much. My "in my own words" answer was an approximate statement of the following :
"The introduction of an arbitrary into a problem or solution invites the further introduction of arbitraries into problems and solutions."
( Logic 16, "The Logics" by L. Ron Hubbard (1951),
Scientology 0-8 Los Angeles and Copenhagen, 1988, page 48.)One does not assume that arbitraries "just happen". On the other hand, I (that means me) have no competence, official or otherwise, to conduct investigation of this matter.
So far as I know the patently false data are being as of this writing published under the aegis of the Church. The remedy is of course is to quit publishing false data.
All I for one can do is keep decrying the apparent suppression of knowledge, etc., hereby continued.
