I have just happened on a volume by William B. Breuer, Deceptions of World War II , as at the bottom of page. An author of numerous titles,

I note the following, off-hand

* Not a mention of Harry Dexter White in the US Govt. He was one of the key authors of a marvelous bit of deception, by way of the USSR's getting some US-furnished money printing plates for the occupational currency in Germany, and then defrauding the US on some $250,000,000. (This might count as a post-war development. But other activities by Harry Dexter White and his Red cronies in the US would not.)

* Not a mention of Lauchlin Currie of the US Govt, who, beside having deceived FDR himself, had been deceiving (a) Chiang Kai-shek (part sucessfully) and (b) General Stilwell (very sucessfully) in Asia ; his subsequent deceiving some parts (if not the whole) of the South America with his 'economics' would count as a post-war development.

* Not a mention of the Cambridge Five in England ; and their connections within the US.

* FDR described as having something to do with some "secret scheme to aid the British". It seems that that was the last thing FDR had wanted ; besides the traditional notion of affinity with the British FDR was rather unwilling to get in any way involved in any European affairs and was mainly concerned with collecting votes in the US and with collecting postage stamps.

There had been a meeting with Churchill at some point ; FDR was resistant to committing himself much to anything ; which he after all did to some small extent for the situation was becoming visibly difficult in Europe etc. I do not know the detail but you can find this out somewhere, the reader, the first meeting between FDR and Churchill aboard some ship somewhere.

Otherwise, FDR did not believe in secrecy, nor did he believe Stalin did, and there have been some few wars afterwards in major part because of just that circumstance.

* Not a mention of the Communist operations in America, overall. The only party who really wanted the US to join the war were the Communists after Hitler's armies had invaded their dream-land Fatherland in June 1941.

* Not a mention of the Communist spying operations in Japan.

* Not a mention of mountainous deceits practiced by Mao Tse-tung of the Red Communist menace in Asia.

* The one mention of J. Edgar Hoover could only serve to discredit ; whether there is any truth in the section on J. Edgar Hoover I do not know. Perhaps some actual facts could be stretched to fit the given description. The facts are that Hoover was one of the first who had tried to alert the US Govt to the presence of the Soviet mole Harry Dexter White in its midst and the presence of other Reds in it.

So, I dont know. The text apparently contains much material which may be entirely true. I still dont know why no other details, many of them of far more importance than some of the included, have not been considered in the text.

By the way, I do not know if there may have been a relation with Josef Breuer of the Sigmund Freud fiasco ; but William B. is certainly no credit to Josef Breuer due to the wants in this text such as mentioned above.
