Scholarship Scams
Students and parents pay particular attention to deadlines. Postmark deadlines mean they must be stamped with a postmark on or before the date listed. Received by deadlines mean that you must mail the scholarship application early enough for the organization to have your application in their office by that date.
Navy ROTC Scholarship - full tuition and benefits up to $150,000 - ACT Math & English = 22, SAT Math = 520 and Verbal = 530 - no obligation for first year in college - upon completion of degree commissioned as Ensign and 4 years active duty - contact Petty Officer Sagliano at 758-7220
Alabama American Legion Scholarship - $850 - child or grandchild or veteran of WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietname, or Desert Storm - May 1 deadline - send self addressed stamped envelope (business size) to :

Kid's Chance Scholarship - parent killed or permanently and totally disabled on-the-job accident - May 1 deadline - official transcript - copy of financial aid letter from school you will be attending
SAE 2004 Engineering Scholarships - December 1 postmark deadline - must be engineering major or related science - $1,000 to $10,000 awards - official transcript - resume - $5 processing fee - essay - see individual scholarships for GPA and ACT/SAT requirements
Alabama Bankers Association Scholarship - March 1 postmark deadline - one entrant is selected to represent our school based on their essay - all essays are due to Mrs. Lundgren by February 1 - 400 word essay - $1,000 award
Elk National Foundation Scholarship- December 19 deadline to Mrs. Lundgren - official transcript including ACT/SAT results - 2 letters of recommendation - application must be typed or go to www.elks.org/enf/scholars for and electronic version - parental financial statement required - guidance counselor must complete a school report form
