Preparing for the Job Interview 1) Decide what type of job you want before you reach the interview stage. 2) Look for employers who hire workers for that type of job. 3) Neatly type a resume and make several copies. Place them in a file folder so they will remain clean and non-wrinkled. 4) When filling out a job application, complete it neatly and accurately in black or blue ink. Return it to your potential employer with your resume and any copies of supporting documents or certificates. 5) Think about what kinds of questions the interviewer migh ask and practice your answers. 6) Dress appropriately for the type of job for which you are interviewing. For example, don't wear a suit to an interview for a factory laborer's job. Men and women should use only light cologne or perfume. No jingling jewelry. 7) Arrive 10 minutes early for the interview. Introduce yourself to the receptionist and tell her your appointment time. 8) Sit down, take a deep breathe, and relax. Be confident that you will impress the interviewer because you have taken the time to prepare. This shows him that you want the job and are willing to work to get it.
