Vampiric Great Houses of the Council

House: Annuna/Children of An (an NOON na)
House Nickname: Deathbringers
Founder: Ahriman/An
Origin: Sumer
The house of death. Split into four castes, the Annuna follow the teachings of the An and his children. It is said that each of the four castes are decended from one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocolypse: War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death. They each have their own duties and traditions. To them, death is the way of life. They are neither cruel nor compassionate towards mortals.

House: Caledon (SAL a don)
House Nickname: Hunters
Founder: Devana
Origin: British Isles
Tricksters and hunters, the Caledon like to intermingle with the mortal world at parties and social circles. Like a cat toying with a bird, they lure their prey out and study it, right up until they move for the kill. While generally easy-going, they will fight like mad if presented with no option of escape.

House: Ganxero (gan ZER ro)
House Nickname: Dreamlords
Founder: Test
Origin: Atlantis
Blamed for the sinking of the mythical continent of Atlantis, the Founder known as only as "Test" wandered the earth pursued by the survivors of that calamity. It is said that they are able to manipulate the dreams and lifegiving energies of mortals.

House: Hehkek (HEH keck)
House Nickname: Flesheaters
Founder: Sitneith
Origin: Egypt
Cursed for devouring her brother, Sitneith's brood is condemned to do the same. Accomplished illusionists and fleshshapers, their house is one to be feared. They disdain House Hemotian due to their shared lineage in Egypt. They see themselves as the rightful rulers of the kingdom of sand.

House: Hemotian (hem O shun)
House Nickname: Scorpions
Founder: Isian
Origin: Egypt
Actually older than the Hehkek, this house is said to originally also be from Egypt. Their Founder was cast out of Egypt for offending the gods and began a nomadic lifestyle, eventually settling in eastern India. They feel that humans are no more than cattle to be used as they see fit. They have a long-standing feud with the Xie Long over some transgression that happened long ago.

House: Ralish (RA lish)
House Nickname: Arbiters
Founder: Rumbutu (Makawon?)
Origin: African
Steeped in mystery, this house pursues knowledge wherever it may be found. They will let nothing stand in their way when they desire to know something. They are also seen as the voice of reason during inter-house disputes and often give sage advice to the council. They view humanity as an anomoly and strive to learn as much as they can about them.

House: Sedim (SED um)
House Nickname: Kings
Founder: Aziel
Origin: Heaven?
Supposedly the oldest of the houses, the Sedim are seen as the leaders amongst the undead. Under the surface, however, they are some of the most vile corruptors and hedonists in existance. They view humans as nothing more than playthings and tools to be used and then discarded. It is said that their Founder was once a noble angel, but was cast out of Heaven and cursed with vampirism for going against God's wishes.

House: Wavas (VA Shay)
House Nickname: Samaritans
Founder: Bau D’Gociw
Origin: Germania
The house of healers and saviours, the Wavas strive to help humanity in anyway that they can. From healing wounds to helping the poor and unfortunate, they are the most in touch with the mortals. They seem to have a particular aversion to House Sedim, and often oppose them in council.

House: Xie Long (SHEE long)
House Nickname: Dragons
Founder: Lau Yung
Origin: China
Heralding from the asian lands, it is said that the Xie Long have the blood of dragons running through their veins. They are cruel and sadistic when dealing with the human population, and have no problem killing those that cross them. Their Founder, Lau Yung, was known to be the most evil of them all and it is said she could prolong her target's death for all of eternity.

All of the pictures that are used to represent the various houses were drawn by Tim Bradstreet, one of the best artists walking and the man who most captures what it is to be a gothic-punk vampire. Thanks Tim!
