The
Gadium et Spes Program
The Gaudium et Spes Program
is an effort of the Mount St. Mary’s College and Seminary Knights of Columbus
Council (#1965) to address foundational social and political questions and their
practical applications from a Catholic perspective. This is particularly fitting given the
fourth fundamental principle of our Order: Patriotism. The Program features a series of
discussion group meetings open to the entire community (past topics have
included just war and terrorism & capital punishment); formal presentations
by experts in their field (e.g. State Senator Alex Mooney on being a Catholic
contemporary American politician); and an annual Symposium featuring prominent
speakers. It is our hope that this
program will help all of us to learn how to be a good Catholic and good American
in the world.
