Escaflowne is a TV series and a movie. I like the TV series very much, and the movie is alright. The plot of the movie is much different than the series, so I will be talking only about the series here. |

Plot: High School girl Hitomi is accidentally transported to a fantasy world where a boy named Van is the king of a country and rides a large mecha... "thing", called the Escaflowne, that can transform into a big mecha dragon... thing. |

|
|
|
|
|
Good points: Deep plot, many plot twists and turns, cute humor, good characterization, interesting usage of mecha. Also, it has Dilandau, who is absolutely insane and I love him. |
|
|
|
Bad points: A lot of people get turned off by the art. So they have huge noses. Look past that, and you'll see it's worth your while. Hm... voice dubbing could be better. |
